Edward Gerard Jeep, 86, of Melrose Park, died, May 28. Son of Charles William and Marie Louise Foley of St. Louis, MO. Following WWII service in the Navy, he was a Catholic priest in Oklahoma. With an MA from the Univ. of Wisconsin in 1971, he joined the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, and moved his family to the Chicago area as Regional Director of the Economic Development Administration. After retirement he focused on community organizing with United Power. He maintained a lifelong interest in issues of peace and justice, theological education, tennis and golf. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McMahon, son Edward Louis and daughter Emily Jeep Klingaman; his son-in-law, Paul Klingaman; and grandchildren, Charlotte and Simone Klingaman. Wake Sunday 3-9pm Drechsler, Brown & Williams, 203 S. Marion, Oak Park. Funeral Monday 10am St. Luke, 7600 Lake St., River Forest. Friends and family are asked to meet at the church.
