McMillan, Angus James

June  3, 2006
Detroit, MI

Ordained a priest in 1964 he served in parish until he left the active ministry in 1968.  He then earned an MA in Special Education.  Later he earned his Ed.D.  In 1970 he married Susanne Reamer.  Angus administered a program for autistic students for 16 years.  In 1989 he joined the Special Ed faculty at Marygrove College until his retirement in 1998.

Angus was always proud of both his Irish and Scotch heritages.  He played the bagpipes, was an entertaining storyteller, and loved music and friends.  Even in his last days, when his ability to speak was very limited, his eyes would twinkle when a friend came to visit him.  Angus was diagnosed with Parkinson's on his 50th birthday.  Angus died as he lived--a very kind and gentle man.

Eternal rest for this faithful servant.
