Bernard J. Nelson, 69, of Geddes NY, died at Syracuse's Crouse Hospital after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of St. Lucy's, St. Bernards Seminary and Syracuse University. He was a Catholic priest for 26 years and had been the pastor of Annunciation Church for 12 years in Clark Mills. He was a mental health therapist for 12 years for Lafayette County Human Services in Darlington, WI, and worked as a counselor at Bishop Ludden High School and at Utica Catholic Academy. Survivors: his wife of 14 years, Therese E. Nelson; daughters, Jessica Nelson of Blanchardville, WI; Jadalynn and Raelene Nelson, both at home; son, Justin Nelson at home; sisters, Eileen Nelson and Sr. Mary Anne Nelson, CSJ, of Albany.

Syracuse's Bishop Moynihan celebrated the funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church.
