John F. Regan, Sr. of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester and Sudbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 9, 2012.  He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Pat (Riseling) Regan.  Devoted father of Tricia Regan Rullo, husband Paul, Kathleen Regan, and John F. Regan, Jr., wife Catherine.  Grandfather of Kelly and Mary Regan, and Patrick Ferris.  Brother of James P. Regan and his late brother Daniel Regan, and sister Mary Regan.  He is also survived by an abundance of nieces and nephews. Graduate of Boston College High School and Saint Bonaventure University.

John served two tours in the Republic of Vietnam in the 4th Infantry Division in the Central Highlands, and later with the Riverine Patrol and the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta.  His awards include the Bronze Star, with two Oak Leaf Clusters, as well as the Air Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. John was a National Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) from 1973-1997, serving in the Washington DC Service Office and the Boston Regional Office.  He also served as the DAV Massachusetts State Commander from 1997-1998.   One of his many honors as a National Service Officer, he received the "Man of the Year" award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.  Lastly, he was a life long Patriots fan and Season Ticket holder.
