aspellpDr. Patrick J. Aspell, 78, husband of Denise ("Dee Dee, You're My Gal") Doublet Aspell, died from complications of Alzheimer's disease on June 15, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Charlestown, MA, the son of the late Patrick J. and Mary R. (Kehoe) Aspell and spent his early years in Tewksbury, MA. For the last 30 years he made his home in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Aspell, - Ph.D. in Philosophy, Ph.D. in Psychology, M.A. in Philosophy, M.A. in Psychology, STL - Licentiate in Theology, - taught at Catholic University & Oblate College in Washington, DC, and at the University of Texas, University of the Incarnate Word, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary's University, and St. Philips's College, all in San Antonio. He is the author of numerous articles and books in the fields of philosophy and psychology. Dr. Aspell's articles on Plato and Anaxagoras are published in the New Catholic Encyclopedia.

Dr. Aspell is survived by his wife, Dee Dee and his son, Patrick J. Aspell. He is also survived by his sister Joan J. (Aspell) Starr and her husband James of Tewksbury, MA; his brother Thomas J. Aspell and his wife Maureen of Tewksbury; his sister Nancy M. (Aspell) Spaulding of Chelmsford, MA; his mother-in-law, Eutolina Doublet; his brother-in-law, Maurice Doublet and his wife Loyce. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward F. Aspell; sisters Elizabeth, Sarah and Kathleen "Kay" M. (Aspell) Curran; brother-in-law Thomas J. Curran; father-in-law, Mr. Maurice Doublet, Jr., and nephew Maurice A. Doublet, IV. Visitation: 6:00 - 9:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM Thurs. June 18 at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM Fri. June 19 at Oblate Memorial Chapel, 285 Oblate Drive. Burial: Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dr. Patrick J. Aspell to the Thomas J. Curran-Kay Aspell Curran Scholarship Fund c/o Brian Doherty, 36 Devonshire Crossing, Chelmsford, MA 01824, or to a charity of your choice.

Patrick was ordained for the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and taught Philosophy for several years at their Seminary, Oblate College in Washington, DC.
