Donald was ordained for Archdiocese of Boston in 1959. As a diocesan priest he was a member of St. James Society in Peru and also served as a parish priest in the Boston area. After leaving the priesthood, he married Barbara Copper and had a daughter, Donna Marie. During his married years, he was administrator of Heywood Valley Nursing Home in Worcester, MA.
