boylewBOYLE, William J. Of Folsom died Sunday, November 1, 2009, 5 days shy of his 83rd birthday. He was born in San Francisco in 1926 and achieved his childhood ambition of becoming a priest in June of 1951. He spent 17 years in the active ministry until September, 1968 when he received a Papal Dispensation in order to marry in the church in June of 1969. By his marriage to Wanda Sturla in Palo Alto, he acquired an instant family that truly enriched his life: Susan McCracken and her husband Jeff of Folsom, Kim Sturla from Vacaville, Stephen Sturla in Hollywood and Vince Sturla and his wife Kelly and their children Kate, Joe, Anna and Carolina of Davis. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Wanda, father Henry, loving mother Margaret, and brothers Michael and Patrick. He is survived by his brother Vincent of San Rafael and his children Meg, Claire, Tom and Matt. He is also survived by his beloved Aunt Margaret and many cousins of the Davoren and Cervelli Clans.
He also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews with whom he had a very special relationship. Bill felt honored by having so many life long friends from the seminary, and the parishes he served especially St. Charles in San Carlos, as well as the staff and patients he worked with from One South of El Camino Hospital in Mt. View. Bill, a lifelong 49ers and Giants fan and an avid bridge player later worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist and enjoyed trips with his wife to Lake Tahoe. A private burial was held in Folsom and a memorial service is set for Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Divine Savoir Church in Orangevale, CA at 11am.
