Dr. Michael Mayr
REST IN PEACE
Michael was born on February 4, 1945 in the last weeks of World War II. The escape to Tyrol gave him a barren but happy childhood. The family then moved to Linz, where Michael attended the school, studied electrical engineering in the HTL Linz and physics at the Technical University in Vienna. His passion was X-ray physics, his hobby was astronomy. As a physicist he worked in quality assurance and research in Linz in voestalpine Stahl. In his work he found fulfillment, his work colleagues appreciated and respected, with many connected him a good friendship.
After his retirement he found best friends at the volunteer fire department in Steinfelden / Pettenbach. Michael volunteered for the Christian Business Community voest, the action 365, "We are Church", the Laity Council of the Diocese of Linz and the parish of Linz- St. Peter. "JA the new church newspaper" was overseen by Michael for many years with pictures and layout. With his hobby, photography, he was able to serve well. He likes to jump in as a photographer at festivals and events. Michael's pictures still enjoy family, friends and friends.
In 1969 he married Roswitha and struggled to be a good husband and father for his 4 children.
Michael married Bishop Christine Mayr Lumetzberger in 1982, and they enjoyed their years together. He supported her, the children and grandchildren to the best of his ability.
In July 2017, Michael fell seriously ill and endured disease, surgery and therapies with the utmost patience. He was a friendly and gracious patient, grateful to all for everything. On the morning of February 28, 2018, he peacefully fell asleep and arrived in God's blissful light.
The FF Steinfelden says goodbye to Michael on Wednesday, March 7 at 18:00 clock in the fire station. We invite you to the resurrection service at 15:00 in the parish church of Linz St. Peter (Spallerhof, Wallenbergstraße 20, 4020 Linz).
The funeral of Michael's urn takes place quietly in the family circle.
