Rest in Peace
Patrick J. Quirk crossed the bridge in Selma with Martin Luther King Jr. in 1965. He fought for a better union, justice, and freedom. On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, he crossed the bridge to eternity.
Patrick got his PhD in Philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (home of three Saints and 19 Popes) and his Master's in Spanish language and literature at UNAM in Mexico City.
After his return to the states, he met and married JoAnn LeBlanc in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where they raised a family and built their business together.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; and his oldest sister, Pauline Myers of Houston, TX. He is survived by three sons, Paul James Quirk of Arlington, Virginia, and Patrick Shannon and Sean St. Clair, both of Stillwater; two sisters, Peggy Stege Nestle of Tulsa and Kathleen Creel of Loveland, CO; and a brother, Michael S. Patrick J. Quirk - Born 11-28-1931 and was ordained for the OKC & Tulsa Diocese in about 1959 or 1960. Pat married JoAnn LeBlanc who had been a Sister of Divine Providence from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and had taught at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, OK. Later she was doing graduate work at O.S.U. in Stillwater, OK where she met Father Quirk after one of his Masses. She was looking for her keys. They later married and had 3 sons: Paul, Patrick, and Sean. They lived in Stillwater for several years where Pat engaged in Real Estate. When Pat became ill with Parkinson’s disease they moved to Tulsa & not long after Pat was moved to the Wildwood Care Center. Before long JoAnn became ill as well, with a bad heart; but then died sooner than expected on March 8, 2018. They delayed funeral services for her until Pat died, and he did pass away soon on April 24, 2018. The joint funeral church services were held at The Madalene Parish in Tulsa on July 2, 2018.
