Scarborough ME - James (Jim) Hollywood, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Husband of Elaine Hollywood sharing 45 years of marriage together.
Born in 1931, growing up in both Ireland and New York City, he was the son of Irish parents, Matthew and Mary Jane (Mae) Hollywood, and older brother to Patrick Hollywood. James graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Master of Classical Arts. He shared his faith as a Franciscan Priest from 1948-1973—both as a seminarian and ordained priest. He also served as a United States Probation and Pretrial Service Officer from 1975-1995.
Jim is survived by his wife, Elaine Hollywood; children, Thomas Hollywood and MaryBeth DeMatteis; and five grandchildren, Mae, Shea, Quinn, Curran and Sofia. He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Hollywood in 2018.
Jim was a devoted member of the faith community at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough, Maine. He relished in the simple things and enjoyed being with those that he loved most.
He will be fondly remembered by those who knew him well for his kindness, warmth, ease and contagious laugh.
Visiting hours celebrating Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, ME from 3:00-7:00pm. Prayers will be recited at Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 10:00AM, followed by an 11:00AM Mass of Christina Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough, Maine.
