Eric G. "Floyd" Litzenberg, 80, of Butler died Wednesday evening at his home.
Born Sept. 5, 1927, in Petrolia, he was the son of Ott and Mary Weildand Litzenberg.
A former Capuchin Friar, he was ordained to the priesthood June 5, 1954.
He received a bachelor's degree from St. Fidelis Seminary in Herman and a master's in religious education from Catholic University in Washington,D.C.
He was a retired real estate agent, heaving worked for Nothwood Realty, Home Realty and Coldwell Banker Real Estate services.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where he was a lector. In addition, he belong to Corps of Resigned Priests United for Service.
He also was a member of the St. Paul choir and the Blazing Star Choral Society.
He availed himself to the service of various Christian ministries in Butler and surrounding areas.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Muto Litzenberg, whom he married Feb. 21, 1975; a brother, Weiley Litzenberg and his wife, Madge, of Marion, Ohio; two sisters, Kathleen Hoffman Doughtery of Butler and Sister Georgia Litzenberg, a Sister of Charity stationed in Export.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Litzenberg.
LITZENBERG - Friends of Eric G. "Floyd" Litzenberg, who died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
Members of St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at the church at 9:35 a.m. Saturday to recite the rosary.
