McBride, John, (Jack), Joseph

Died: 04. 17. 2021

Jack was the son of Rose and George McBride, both orphans (Irish ancestry).

Siblings: George (deceased) + Betty + [Jack] + Bobby (deceased)

Both Bobby and dad (Jack) went through the seminary and were ordained Catholic priests. (Dad had another life before mom - 20yrs’ difference)

Jack and Rita Jan (Clifton) McBride would have been celebrating their 50th year of marriage July 23, 2021!! Lifelong love.

Two daughters: Danielle (1972) and Jessie (1974).

Two grandkids: Caleb (2000) and Bron (2003) Ayan, sons of Danielle and Otan Ayan

Jack lived a full life, ADORED his wife (“everyone should have a Rita”).

Although not allowed by the church to offer Mass or practice due to the marriage, Jack never left the priesthood. He continued to serve - visiting patients in the hospital, administering the sacrament of the sick, writing to people in jail, bringing people purpose. He ran Race Relations Dialog groups + LGBTQ groups + a Hospice.

Jack was dearly loved and deeply loving

Prayers for his soul and for Rita are welcome.

Jack was ordained for the Archdiocese of Washinton D.C. in 1960.  He transitioned 1970 and married Rita Clifton in 1971.  Jack was Administer/Chaplin for Shepherds Gate Hospice.  He  was a longtime CORPUS member and attended many of our National CORPUS Conferences throughout the years.
