REST IN PEACE

Thomas L. Dinges, 90, of Falmouth, passed away peacefully at the Atria Woodbriar Assisted Living in Falmouth on November 17, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Regina (Ledwell) Dinges and the son of the late Frank and Margaret Dinges.

Thomas grew up in Downers Grove, IL and served in the US Army during World War II: however, he transferred to the US Navy and retired with the rank of Commander. He received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Notre Dame in 1949 and went on to earn his Doctorate in Philosophy at the University of Illinois in 1975. Answering the call to religious life, Thomas was ordained as a priest in 1957 and served in the Diocese of Davenport, IA until 1977.

After leaving the priesthood, he pursued a career as a teacher, and eventually, established a successful data processing business with his beloved wife and best friend, Regina. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Colombus, a member of the Navy League and an active member of the Alumni Organization of the University of Notre Dame. Thomas enjoyed reading, especially history, outdoor activities and traveling the United State and Europe with Regina. He was a loving husband, uncle and friend to all who loved and knew him.

Thomas is survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151) Mashpee, on Wednesday November 22, 2017 from 8:30am to 9:30am. A funeral mass will follow at St. Anthonys Church 167 East Falmouth Highway (RTE 28) East Falmouth at 10:00am. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthonys Church 167 East Falmouth Highway East Falmouth, MA 02536.
