REST IN PEACE

Gary Fossett was born 11-10-1937 in Oklahoma City, OK and died 08-31-2021 in Reston, VA. He was originally from St. Francis Parish in Oklahoma City, OK and attended their Rosary Grade School. He graduated from Catholic High School (Later called Bishop McGuinness High School) in Oklahoma City.  He was ordained to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.  He was initially in residence at St. Francis Parish in Tulsa, OK while running an “experimental program and correspondence course”, called URBAN ACADEMY.  He was appointed as administrator in Haskell, OK in 1966.  He also left the active ministry in 1966 and was dispensed in 1967.  Following his career as a priest in Oklahoma, Gary had a career as an attorney and owned John Michael Associates, an executive search firm serving the needs of law firms locally, nationally, and globally.  He is survived by his wife Christine (Craig) Fossett of 53 years.  He was the father of three children, one of which, Michael, predeceased him.  He is also survived by his other two children, Tara Lynn O’Dwyer and Leslie Cecilia O’Meara, one grandchild, and a brother Ronald and cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. In his spare time, he provided programs for Pennsylvania prison inmates. Due to ongoing community health concerns a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
