Dr. Charles R. Cassetta, 88, of Westminster, MD passed away on July 26, 2022. Born August 17, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Cassetta. Husband of Angelina Cassetta.Upon ordination to priesthood as an Oblate of Mary Immaculate in Rome Italy, Chuck taught at different high schools in the East and he also worked for the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 9 years. He has a doctorate in Theology, a master’s in philosophy and a master’s in Religious Education. Chuck was a lifetime member of the St. Charles Borromeo Council, Knights of Columbus. Upon transitioning from the priesthood, he moved to the business world and worked for Human Equations as a consultant/trainer for sales and management. Around 1997, Chuck started his own consulting business and retired in 2002. Chuck and Angie liked to travel and spend time with the family.
Surviving are daughters, Sharon Bognanni and Mary Jo (Kerry) Hollander; son, Frank M. (Dawn) Stracke, Jr.; brother, Anthony (Barbara) Cassetta; three sisters, Mary Rita (Dana) Cassetta, Roseanne Lazzarro, and Catherine Muir. Chuck is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Michael, Ryan, Angelina, Kelly, Kristina, Eric, Kevin, Frank, III, and 12 great-grandchildren; Keily, Juliana, Shay, Luca, Sophia, Colton, Luke, Beckett, Jude, Matteo, Archie and Penn. Also surviving are a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by brother Joe (Catherine), sisters Jo Ann, and Lucille, and brothers-in-law, George Dadario, Phil Lazzarro, and Doug Muir.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3rd, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2940 Park Avenue Manchester, MD 21102 at 10am. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, MD.
