Lacki, Aloysius (Al)

lackiAloysius (Al) Lacki of Sterling Heights, MI was a man of deep faith, humor, compassion and wisdom and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who passed away Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at the age of 92! Al was born in Manistee, MI on April 20, 1930. He was the son of Frank and Stella Lacki and brother to Christine, Ben, Eugene and Rita (Oleniczak). Following his faith, devotion and calling to service, he was ordained a Catholic priest in Detroit in 1956 serving Saginaw, Bay City and other communities and parishes for many years. Al’s musical talent and love of song was expressed as a soloist, as a part of a band (The New Image), by performing benefit concerts, and reaching out to so many others through music. In 1973, he lovingly married Julia Theiring and they had two beloved children, Michelle and Mark. He was an author (“Staying Connected in your Marriage”), counselor and Program Director for Marriage Enrichment for over 30 years. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Kristin; nieces, nephews, and three beautiful grandchildren; Maddyn, Chloe, and Molly. He has now gone to his forever home surrounded by love and peace. Family will receive friends Friday July 1, 2022 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons, Price chapel, 3725 Rochester Rd, (between Big Beaver & Wattles), Troy, (248) 689-0700. A vigil service and sharing of memories will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 11:00 AM at St Mary’s of the Hills in Rochester, MI with a visitation from 10:30-11:00 AM.
