Rest in Peace
Joseph McGarrity, age 76 of Hammon-ton NJ, died on Friday August 24 2007 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn NY he lived in Hammonton for 30 years. Mr. McGarrity was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg MD. He also attended LaSalle College where he earned a Masters Degree in Theology. Mr. McGarrity was a Marketing Director for AAA of Cherry Hill. He also was a former Professor at Camden County and Gloucester County Colleges. Mr. McGarrity served the Camden Diocese as Roman Catholic Priest for 12 years serving five of those years in Brazil.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn G. (nee Tripician) McGarrity of Hammonton; one brother and his wife: Dr. Gerard & Beverly McGarrity; three sisters: Sister Mary Theresa McGarrity; Lyla Bradley; Gail Coggins; his mother-in-law: Angelina Tripician; his brother-in-law: Charles Tripician; his brother and sister-in-law: Toni and Santo Formica and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10:30AM in St. Martin de Porres RC Church N. Egg Harbor Road Hammonton NJ. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Mays Landing. A viewing will be held Monday evening 7:00PM-9:00pm and again on Tuesday morning 9:30am at the CARNESALE FUNERAL HOME 202 S. Third St. Hammonton. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church 1739 Ferry Ave. Camden NJ 008104.
Joseph was a longtime member of CORPUS.
