REST IN PEACE
Robert "Bob" Blattner of St. Louis, Missouri, was born on June 13, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Bob graduated from St. Joseph's Seminary High School in 1962. He attended Quincy College in the fall of 1962. In 1964, he took a year off from his studies to join the Franciscan Order. He resumed college at Quincy in the summer of 1965 and graduated in 1967. From 1967 to 1971, he was in a Master's program at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
He was ordained to the priesthood as a Franciscan on June 5, 1971. After leaving the priesthood, he worked as an addiction and marriage counselor. He maintained a private practice in St. Louis from 1989 until 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Marian Blattner; his brother, James Blattner; his sister, Barbara Garvey; and his niece, Sheila Blattner.
He is survived by his brother, John Blattner; and his three children: David Blattner, Katy (Kirk) Woehr, and Emily (Ryan) Kingston. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Lillian Seithel, Addison Woehr, Lucy Kingston, and Emma Kingston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be held at Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, located at 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141, followed by a short Catholic service. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
Bob was a long time active member of CORPUS.
