Colonel (U.S. Army, Retired) Bob Kleinworth passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2014. He proudly served his country for 23 years as an airborne soldier with stations in Vietnam, Korea, Germany and Panama, as well as at the Pentagon. He was born in 1930 to Frank Kleinworth and Beulah Marie Bolles, and was raised with 10 brothers and sisters in Houston. He graduated from St. Anthony High School Seminary and received his Bachelor's degree from Oblate College of the Southwest, both in San Antonio. He later received a Master's degree in psychology from Long Island University. Bob was a devout Catholic throughout his life, and he believed in the words, "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood will never die."

He is survived by his beloved wife Marie-Claire Kleinworth, his son Robert Ray (Beau) Kleinworth III, his brother E.J. Kleinworth, his sister Rosemary Vanloo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio 78218. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3909 Harry Wurzbach Rd. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery following Mass. Pallbearers will be Jim Ford, Bob Hall, Terry Hall, Jim Hartness, Frank Kleinworth, Jack Kleinworth, Tom Kleinworth and Carl Holmes. Serving as honorary pallbearers are John Copley, Steve Hall, Ed Kleinworth, Joe Kleinworth, Kenneth Kleinworth, Bill Lockridge, Christopher Thompson and Paul Thompson.
