Palmer, Anthony

December 9, 2008
St. Paul, MN

Anthony was ordained for the Diocese of Des Moines, IA in 1953.  Tony served as a pastor in many rural parishes and for many years was the director of Liturgy for the diocese.  He resigned in 1979 and married Pat Savard in 1980.  Thy moved to California where Tony worked in the computer field.  He was also a volunteer chairman of the first liturgical committee for the new Diocese of San Jose and wrote the committee's constitution.  After he retired in 1994 they moved to Pat's home base in Minnesota.

Tony has a passion for tennis and his short stature fooled many of his giant opponents.  He loved to tell stories and had an infectiuous sense of humor, both of which light up the regular luncheons that four of us shared with Tony.  Pat and many friends gave him a glorious send-off, with his look-alike brother Frank presiding at the celebration.

Many Tony rest in the peace of the Lord.
