Francis Reilly, 71, of St. Paul MN died October 17, 2009. Frank was born in Waterbury CT, attended St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and earned a PhD at Catholic University.Frank was a gifted teacher of theology at different colleges throughout the East and Midwest. He ended his teaching career at Cretin-Derham Hall high school. Frank was an engaging teacher, always stimulating, always challenging. On principle he pushed the envelop some times and twice it cost his his job. His students, however, admired and loved him.
Frank was also an essayist and an ardent contributor to the opinion pages of Minneapolis Star Tribune. He was an 11 year survivor of stage-four colon cancer and died of ALS. His wife of 43 years Patty, his children Adam and Catherine, his many friends and students will dearly miss him. May he rest in eternal peace.
