Christopher Francis Ruggeri, 82, of Mashpee, MA passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday evening March 29, 2011 at McCarthy Care Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the husband of Margaret "Peg" Ruggeri.

Born in Holley, NY, he was the son of Josephine and Sam Ruggeri. At the age of 17, Chris served our country with the US Army. Upon return, he entered St. Bonaventure College in Olean, NY, graduating Class of 1952. Ordained in 1956, his ministry as professor began at Siena College. Chris then served with the Franciscans of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. He served as chaplain in the parish and school communities in Fairlawn, NY and Manhattan College, NY. Thereafter, Chris was called for military chaplaincy, as a Major in the Air Force, serving in New Mexico and Newfoundland.

Chris married the love of his life in 1971, making their home in Lexington, MA. For 15 years, he built a formidable business as a pension consultant and administrator, and designer of pension plans. Thereafter, Chris and Peg enjoyed retirement on Cape Cod. Chris's most cherished love was time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed international travel and culture, music and dance, great food and wine, and the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Marc (Bette) Anthony Ruggeri; nephews and nieces, Marc and Beth Ruggeri, Carla (Doug) Thompson, Gary Colombo, and Lori (Paul) Koopman; cousins, Ann Vecchio and Roselle Lacomba; and sister-in-law Teresa (Ken) Miller. He is also survived by great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Gracemarie "Dolly" Colombo, and her husband Tom.
