John K. “Jackie” Connell, age 67, Of Swampscott, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lynn, son of the late William J. and Theresa G. (Keaney) Connell. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Class of 1958. He attended St. John’s Seminary in Boston and the North American College in Rome. He was ordained in Rome in l965. He served in various assignments in the Archdiocese of Boston. He received a Masters of Arts Degree in Theology from Saint Michael’s College in Winooski Park VT.

For the past 24 years he has been a counselor with (AA) Alcoholics Anonymous. He is a members of The Friends of Bill for 24 years and had been a 12 year volunteer at the Wilson House in East Dorset, VT., the home of AA co-founder , Bill Wilson . Jackie was also a volunteer at My Brother’s Table in Lynn and Camp Fatima in New Hampshire.

Jackie is survived by one sister, Kathleen M. Muckian and her husband, Thomas of Lynn; one sister in law, Mrs. William F.(Margot C. Gensler ) Connell of Swampscott and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late William F. Connell.
