REST IN PEACE

James Koneazny died peacefully July 29, 2010. A lifelong resident of Milwaukee, Jim left his mark on the city as a leader and community activist. Jim served as a priest in West Allis, West Bend, and at Fox Lake Correctional Institution. He taught at UW-Milwaukee and consulted for schools and businesses throughout Wisconsin. He was a member of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors, editor of the Sherman Park Today! newspaper, and a member of the St. Benedict the Moor community. Jim was a humanitarian, known for his direct approach. Making Milwaukee a better place motivated him to support our schools, museums, neighborhoods, and leaders. His credo was "Choose Life", which he did daily, and with vigor. Jim's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife Kay, children Peter (Lisa), Jim (Tina), Sarah, Kory, Kristofer (Alisha), as well as his grandchildren, Paul, Maggie, Kaylie, Kaetryn, Montaro, Jonah, Celie, extended family, and a wonderful community of friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 7, at 10AM, at St. Benedict the Moor Church, 1015 N. 9th St., Milwaukee. Visitation will take place from 9-10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Casa Maria Hospitality House appreciated. HARTSON FUNERAL HOME (414) 425-9797
