REST IN PEACE
HAGGETT, Richard Harold "Dick" 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL died of congestive heart failure Monday, September 25, 2017 with his family by his side, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine.
He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on May 29, 1939. He was the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Jachowicz) Haggett and had ancestral family ties to Wiscasset and Edgecomb, Maine. Richard was the loving husband of Louise Labbe Haggett of Lewiston, Maine for 42 years and is also survived by his beloved son Gregory and daughter-in-law Terrie of Marlborough, CT; a granddaughter Marisa of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Cole, a senior at Castleton State University, Castleton, VT; several loving siblings-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1957, Richard served on the USS Wasp from 1957 to 1961 and was stationed in Brunswick, Maine and Norfolk, VA. He later attended Northeastern University on the GI Bill.
Richard was a highly respected executive in the health and beauty aids industry working with major retail chains. He later formed his own brokerage company, R. H. Haggett Company, Inc. serving drug, food and discount department store clients in the New England area and for which he received numerous national sales awards.
He and Louise lived in Framingham, Massachusetts, for 35 years before relocating to Freeport, Maine. Most recently, they lived at Savanna Club in Port St. Lucie, FL, and at SeaScape, Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Richard was passionate about developing long-lasting, relationships and counted clients among his many friends with whom he enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of the Framingham (MA) Country Club, the Brunswick (ME) Golf Club. He also played golf at Savanna Club. He was a fierce card player, loved fishing, travel, his rescue dog, Bo Jangles, his family and extended family. His positive outlook on life, his honesty and generous demeanor were appreciated by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 11:30 A.M. at the Laurel Hill Chapel, 293 Beach Street. Saco, ME 04072.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Freeport (ME) Community Services-"heating assistance for seniors" and/or Good Shepherd Food Bank, P.O. Box 1807, Auburn, ME 04211-1807.

Richard and his wife Louise were instumental in helping married priests find a new ministry with CITI and Society of Christ's Priesthood.
