REST IN PEACE

On October 21, 1930, an angel was born on earth, that man was Andrew Leo Fitzpatrick. Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the youngest of 3 children. He had 2 older sisters, Lois and Betty who have predeceased him.

Born of Irene and Andrew, he enjoyed spending time as a child with his grandma and dog Judy, who followed him to school every day. After getting a scholarship to a private high school he entered the Air Force to train as a paratrooper, hoping to join the Korean War. The night before he was to be deployed, he was brought news of his father’s death and did not go. Andrew had a chance to be honorably discharged but decided to remain in the Air Force to serve his country. After his time there he went on to join the Carmelite Priesthood, where he served as a Catholic priest for 17 years in Boston.

His career in sales brought him to Rochester, NY where he married and had 3 daughters. He later moved to Bristol, RI where he and his wife, Nancy enjoyed spending time with their dog, Jessie and taking him to Colt State Park for walks. After his grandchildren were born, Andrew and Nancy moved back to Rochester to be closer their expanding family. Their remaining time was spent in Roswell, GA near his daughter Molly and husband Kevin.

Andrew was the kindest soul you would ever meet. He truly tried to exemplify the way of the Lord. Anyone that was blessed to know him knew his heart of gold to be true.

“A daughter needs a dad so that when no one else is there for her, she can close her eyes and see him”.

“That best portion of a good man’s life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love”

--William Wordsworth

Andrew is survived by his wife, Nancy and daughters: Colleen Fitzpatrick, Molly (Kevin Merkel), and Ann (Pete O’Dell), and grandchildren: Mackenzie, Ella, Andrew, A.J, Matthew, and Alex and many nieces and nephews.
