Dubuc, Martin

dubucMartin Roland Dubuc, 70, of Alan Drive passed away on August 16, 2023, at home. He was the husband of Kumiko Shiga.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Roland and Blanche (Alix) Dubuc. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Shunsuke Shiga, Ryo Shiga, Mariko Shiga, and Misha Dubuc. He is also survived by his sister Simonne Romero and his nieces Cindy Romero, Dina Bliss, and Susie Romero.

Martin was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School and the University of St. Thomas. He was ordained a priest as a member of the Columban Fathers and sent to Japan as a missionary in 1979 where he taught English at various schools. It was there he met Kumiko and they were blessed with Shunsuke, Ryo, Mariko, and Misha.

Upon moving back to the United States, Martin was employed by various agencies including the East Bay Mental Center and the Providence Center. It was during his time at the Providence Center that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease which led to his early retirement. He enjoyed visiting the Columbans in Bristol and attending Mass there with his family. He also enjoyed spending time with friends in CORPUS (an association for married priests), driving through Colt State Park and volunteering at St. Elizabeth Manor.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 25th, 5 - 7 PM at the Columban Fathers, 65 Ferry Road, Bristol. Funeral services will be private, and his remains will be buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in North Attleboro, MA.
